OK — have read all of the Jettine Jorgensen books. As soon as I finished this one I started it over to enjoy knowing what was going to happen and how the author built the story. SL Menear always delivers a high energy novel and this is no exception. When I read for pleasure, I like to be entertained with action and a little bit of suspense. This is not a book to read for twenty minutes before going to sleep — neither of those will be an option. Jorgensen is an all-star character, and I can’t wait for her to become the female “Reacher” and make the jump to the big screen.

Pilot Jett Jorgensen and student pilot, Kerri Lyons, crash a Piper Cub in the Everglades after hitting a flock of pelicans. They flee for their lives from drug dealers/traffickers and fight off swamp creatures till they are rescued, but are pursued by the drug dealers/traffickers even after returning home. Her friend disappears, and Jett is threatened as she works to find her and other girls that have disappeared. The twists and turns will keep you glued to find the next move.

PI investigator and flight instructor, Jett Jorgensen, guides pretty, blond flight student, Kerri Lyons, over the heart of the Everglades in a Piper Cub when they are hit by a flock of pelicans, causing the engine to seize. They are forced to land in a small clearing, right into the nest of big-time drug dealers/traffickers. Jettine and Kerri manage to escape the downed plane and flee for their lives, outmaneuvering the drug dealers and managing to survive in the treacherous Everglades. Once rescued, they assume they are safe, but soon find they are the ring’s focus, and the deadly chase begins.
